Actress Diona Reasonover has become a firm favorite on NCIS as forensic scientist Katie Hines.
Diona Reasonover, who plays forensic scientist Katie Hines in NCIS on the long-running show, has been supported by her co-stars during this period of rest and recovery.
The fan favourite, who joined the hit police procedural in season fifteen, gave fans an update from her hospital bed after undergoing a myomectomy, a surgical procedure on her uterus, to remove ten fibroids.
And both viewers and her NCIS colleagues were quick to share their well wishes.
Sean Murray, who plays Agent Timothy McGee on the CBS show, commented: “Rest up you” alongside a winky face and a red heart emoji.
While Brian Dietzen, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer, said: “Sending love and strength my friend!” And Carol Wilson star, Meredith Eaton, added: “Sending a big hug to you!”
Former NCIS star Pauley Perrette, who exited the show at the end of season fifteen, also shared her sympathy as she posted: “Oh honey!!!!”
In addition to her co-stars, celebrities such as comedian Sarah Silverman, Nailed It! host Nicole Byer and actors Nico Santos and Aasha Davis commented to wish her a speedy recovery.
She was also greeted with lots of fan support. One fan wrote: “Sending you love and healing thoughts.” While a second said: “Wishing you a speedy recovery!!!”
And a third reflected on her own experience: “Hang in there love. I’ve been where you are. You got this. You are 1 strong woman!”
As well as giving everyone an update on her health and that she was “home now and resting,” Diona also took the opportunity to show her support for the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes from her hospital bed.
With a WGA West shirt laid on top of her, Diona asked followers and fellow actors to “picket extra hard” on her behalf.
Sadly, due to the strikes, future episodes of NCIS have been postponed.
So fans may have a considerable wait until season 21 appears on the screen.
This also followed recent news from CBS which confirmed that NCIS wouldn’t be returning later this year in their revised fall schedule.
NCIS is available to watch on CBS in the US and Disney+ in the UK.
