Following 27 years of marriage, Kyle Richards and husband Mauricio Umanky divorced in July. Kathy Hilton is voicing her opinion over her sister Kyle Richards’ breakup with Mauricio Umansky.

During an appearance on Today With Hoda and Jenna, the former cast member of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills discussed her youngest sister’s relationship for the first time. Paris Hilton, the daughter of the show, announced over the weekend that she and her husband Carter Reum had welcomed their second child, a daughter named London.

“When I first saw it, I was just like, it just broke my heart,” she said, noting that the Bravo personality is the “strongest” and “bossiest” sister between her and their other sister, Kim Richards. “So she’s very strong, she’s resilient, and I love my nieces. I just want her to be happy.”

Hilton and Richards’ relationship has had its ups and downs over the years, with the drama between them famously coming to a head during Season 12 of RHOBH — particularly, during the cast’s Aspen trip, in which Hilton had a “breakdown” of epic proportions.

“Once Kathy is mad, it’s hard to turn that around,” Richards said in a Season 12 confessional. “Listen, Kathy can be so much fun and funny. She can also be very difficult. The part that bothers me so much is how much I let it affect me. That’s where it’s different with friends versus sisters.”

The Halloween star sobbedly talked about her tense connection with her sister during the third segment of the Season 12 reunion show.

“I feel very put in the middle of this whole situation,” she stated. “My sister is, of course, my sister. My emotions were deeply wounded. I feel like my family always puts the blame on me for stuff. When everything came out, it only made things worse and took us back; I didn’t f—ing do anything.”

Hilton and Richards appeared to squash their beef earlier this year when they reunited for their niece’s Aspen wedding in June — roughly a month before the reality star’s separation from Umansky began making headlines.

In a joint Instagram message at the time, the pair discussed their marital status, writing, “With regard to the news that was made public about us today… Everything that says we are divorcing is not true. Yes, it has been a difficult year. the most difficult in our marriage.”

“But we both love and respect each other tremendously,” the message went on. Nobody has committed a transgression. Despite being in the spotlight, we request the ability to resolve our differences in private.
