Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky are having marital problems, and Kathy Hilton doesn’t think they can resolve them. Months after the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills couple’s split, Kathy, 64, joined her daughter Paris Hilton, 42, on a morning show. There, she talked about her thoughts on Kyle’s, 54, and Mauricio’s future as well as about Kyle’s dating life, her possible comeback to RHOBH, and Paris’s surprise pregnancy on Paris in Love.
“When I first saw it, I was just like, it just broke my heart,” Kathy said of Kyle and Mauricio’s separation news on the November 27 episode of Today. “But I just think that, unfortunately, I just want, Kyle — believe it or not — she’s the youngest, but she’s the strongest. She’s [the] bossiest. So she’s very strong. She’s resilient, and I love my nieces. I just want her to be happy.”
Despite the fact that they recently spent Thanksgiving together, Kathy doesn’t think her younger sibling, Mauricio, 53, will be the source of her pleasure. Kathy feels that Kyle’s request for a separation from Mauricio is evidence that she is finished.
“Are you really asking me this? Kathy pointed out that Kyle never would have gone this far if she hadn’t given it serious thought.
Paris retorted, “She’s hotter than ever though.”
Kathy continued by saying that “the dating’s gonna start… and I’m gonna go” as soon as Kyle and Mauricio decide to forward with their marriage.
According to Kathy, who recently celebrated her 44th wedding anniversary with Rick Hilton, 68, who she married when she was 19 and he was 23, she credits growing up with Rick and moving to New York together at a young age for their success.
“We did it all on our own and I think had we — a lot of people assumed we’re rich — I think that could’ve been a big problem. We worked together. I worked. He worked. And I think just keeping the right people around, the right couples that you associate with and always keeping that little bit of [spice],” she explained.
She said, “I would say open communication and never, ever take anyone for granted.” When asked about marriage advice. Moving on to Paris’s Peacock series, Kathy recalled their first on-screen encounter with Paris’s 10-month-old son, Phoenix.
“Oh my god. The greatest surprise of my life was that. Regarding Paris’s first child, Kathy said, “I honestly thought it was a puppy or a monkey.” Paris welcomed a second child, a daughter named London, earlier this month.
Paris said, “She’s the best grandma,” regarding Kathy. She consistently appears and surprises me. She’ll be in the nursery with Phoenix when I get home. She enjoys visiting and catching us off guard.
Also on Today, Kathy was asked about appearing on future episodes of RHOBH.
“You never know,” she teased.
