As Pauley Perrette took to Instagram with a cute tribute, her former NCIS co-star Brian Dietzen shared his admiration for her in the comments.

Although Pauley Perrette quit her NCIS role as Abby Scutio in 2018, she is seemingly still in contact with her former co-star Brian Dietzen who shared a sweet message on her post.

The retired actress took to Instagram with a touching post dedicated to the folk-rock duo, Indigo Girls.

She exclaimed: “OMG FINALLY! Last night @indigogirlsmusic FINALLY got to come back and make the world a better place!”

While Perrette shared her excitement and uploaded multiple photos from the night, her followers took to her comments with admiration.

Amongst her fans, was Brian Dietzen, who stars on NCIS as Dr Jimmy Palmer and commented: “So fun!! Love you P!!”

The two worked closely together on the show as Abby was the Chief Forensic Scientist, while Palmer worked as Chief Medical Examiner for the NCIS Major Case Response Team.

Their hugely popular characters were friends for almost a decade and a half, before Perrette’s departure in season 15.

Although she has since retired from acting and moved on to new pastures, the two stars have seemingly remained in touch.

Dietzen and Perrette have continued to remain friendly across social media as he has often supported her posts.

This was even seen in 2021 when Perrette informed her followers that her father had died at the beginning of the year after contracting coronavirus.

In her moving tweet, she wrote about being a “daddy’s girl” before saying: “Daddy didn’t make it. #RIP my beloved daddy. #Covid #Covid19.”

As she urged her followers to take the vaccine and blasted the Republican Party, many including Dietzen shared their well-wishes and support.

In response, he penned: “[heartbroken emoji] So sorry my friend. Hoping and praying for many more shots in arms.”

Although fans have shared their longing for Perrette to reprise Abby for a special comeback, the actress was adamant about not returning as she told TV Insider: “I’m retiring.”

After seeing the reaction on social media, she tweeted: “And I meant it! Nobody believed me, but I did.”

Dietzen also shut down rumours of an Abby reprisal as he stated: “You still talk about people. They’re still in your heart.

“I love that there’s a potential for that, but I haven’t heard anything directly about her returning.”
