In shocking news, there’s going to be a new Kristina on GENERAL HOSPITAL! The role has been recast with Kate Mansi, who is best known to soap fans for playing Abigail on DAYS OF OUR LIVES.
In 2009, Lexi Ainsworth replaced a slew of young actors who had previously played Kristina Davis, Sonny and Alexis’ daughter. The character was recast with Lindsey Morgan after she left in 2011, but she only held the position for one year. Ainsworth made a comeback in 2015, and since then, he has continued to show up often on the soap opera.
However, this will not be temporary as some recent GH recasts have been. Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Ainsworth last aired in the April 27 episode when Kristina attended Michael and Willow’s wedding at the Quartermaine mansion. Mansi has already begun taping and is scheduled to begin airing the week of May 22.
Mansi is best known for her role as Abigail Deveraux on DAYS, which she played from 2011 to 2016 and again from 2018 to 20. For this role, she received two nominations for Daytime Emmy Awards and won Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2017. Additionally, she has acted in films including Maternal Secrets, The Office Mix-Up, and Legend of the Muse in addition to popular television shows like HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, SMALL SHOTS, and CASA GRANDE.
