One of TV’s most versatile funnymen is heading to the world of mobsters and misfits. Kevin Pollak, best known for playing Moishe Maisel on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, has officially joined Season 3 of Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King on Paramount+ as a series regular, Variety is reporting this morning. Pollak is going to be playing Special Agent Musso, described as “an FBI agent who has an axe to grind.” If that sounds like trouble for Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi… it probably is.

Production on Tulsa King Season 3 began back in March in Atlanta and Oklahoma, with Stallone returning to lead the cast as Dwight, the exiled New York mobster-turned-Oklahoma crime lord. Pollak joins a stacked ensemble that includes returning stars Martin Starr, Jay Will, Annabella Sciorra, Garrett Hedlund, Dana Delany, Vincent Piazza, Neal McDonough, and Robert Patrick, alongside newcomers like Frank Grillo, Michael Beach, James Russo, Beau Knapp, Bella Heathcote, and McKenna Quigley Harrington. Pollak said in a statement:

“I’ve been an admirer of Sly’s throughout his entire career and could not be more excited to be a part of this stellar cast and extraordinary production.”

Pollak has had a long and storied career, with roles as dramatic as they are comedic — a perfect blend for Tulsa King, which tends to mix the absurd with the gritty. He’s been ranked among Comedy Central’s Top 100 comedians of all time, but his film résumé is just as rich, with standout roles in A Few Good Men, The Usual Suspects, Casino, Grumpy Old Men, and The Whole Nine Yards. On the TV side, his five-season turn as Moishe Maisel on Mrs. Maisel earned him critical acclaim and a whole new generation of fans. Pollak had been in pre-production on his next directorial feature when the Tulsa King opportunity came knocking, but couldn’t resist the call, according to the report.

What Can We Expect From ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3?

The upcoming season of Tulsa King picks up as Dwight’s criminal empire faces threats from all sides. After spending Season 1 assembling a ragtag crew and asserting dominance in Tulsa, Season 2 introduced new rivals from Kansas City and beyond. Now, with McDonough’s Cal Thresher and Pollak’s vengeful fed Musso added to the mix, Season 3 is poised to turn up the heat. Tulsa King Season 3 does not yet have a confirmed release date, but it’s expected to premiere on Paramount+ later this year.
