Tulsa King season 3 gets a new tease from Sylvester Stallone, teasing that one Dwight alliance with a season 2 antagonist will continue. Created by Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan, Stallone’s hit Paramount+ series returned for its sophomore outing last September, continuing the story of Dwight “The General” Manfredi as he builds his criminal empire in Oklahoma. The season was a hit, and Tulsa King season 3 filming got underway this past March, with no release date for the new episodes set just yet.

In a new post on Instagram, Stallone teases some of what’s to come from Tulsa King season 3, revealing that Dwight’s uneasy alliance with Frank Grillo’s Bill Bevilaqua will continue. In the post, Stallone stands on set with Grillo in a forest environment, revealing that Dwight and Bill are teaming up for a “devious” task. What that task is, however, is left a mystery.
This is my friend Frank Grillo. We’re about to do something a little devious in the name of commerce. It’s not like we’re thieves, right? We’re actually trying to retrieve what belongs to us. I have a feeling it’s going to go South.

What This Means For Tulsa King Season 3

How Season 2 Sets Up Dwight & Bill’s Story

Not much has been revealed so far about the story for season 3, but the Tulsa King season 2 ending sets up a big struggle for Dwight in the coming episodes. The final scene of season 2 features Dwight being kidnapped from Margaret Devereaux’s (Dana Delany) home and taken to an unknown location before an off-screen character tells him: “You work for us now.” It has been theorized that the government is responsible, and it’s possible that Dwight’s team up with Bill is part of a larger law enforcement plan at work.

As for Bill, Grillo’s no-nonsense character made the shocking choice in season 2 to kill Chickie (Domenick Lombardozzi), essentially siding with Dwight. This seemed to be purely a business decision in order to gain ownership of half of Cal Thresher’s (Neal McDonough) weed farm, and Stallone’s video – specifically his mention of “commerce” – suggests the nature of their collaboration will remain one based on mutual business interests. This means that Bill could still very much pose a threat if this changes.

Our Take On Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King Season 3 Post

Stallone & Grillo Could Be A Strong On-Screen Pairing

Even if the alliance between Dwight and Bill is a shaky one built on aligned business interests, it will be exciting to see the two Tulsa King characters working together in season 3. It’s possible that the team-up for a dangerous mission could actually lead to some genuine respect and admiration between the two figures. If seasons 1 and 2 have made anything clear, it’s that having allies can be crucial to success.

Of course, Bill killing Chickie hammers home just how ruthless and unpredictable he can be, making him a continued threat. Many questions remain about the Bill and Dwight dynamic to come in Tulsa King season 3, but there seem sure to be some interesting conflicts to come.
