Outlander’s Caitriona Balfe may have hit a nerve with her co-star Sam Heughan during a playful game of ‘This or That’ in a recent video.

In a hilarious new video, Outlander star Caitriona Balfe took a cheeky swipe at her co-star Sam’s alleged bachelor lifestyle.

The much-loved Outlander cast were engaged in a game of ‘This or That’ during an interview shared on the Starz drama’s Instagram page as they continue to film their eighth and final season.

Sam and Caitriona, along with their fellow actors Richard Rankin, Sophie Skelton and others, were asked to choose between categories such as “soldier or spy” and “America or Scotland”.
However, when it came to precious stones, Sam seemed a bit puzzled.
Caitriona appeared slightly frustrated and rolled her eyes before taking a gentle jab at Sam’s supposed single status.

“You’re obviously not buying jewellery enough for people,” she retorted, followed by a soft laugh.

Fortunately, Sam didn’t seem bothered by the sarcastic comment and carried on with the rest of the interview unfazed.

They also found common ground when the cast was asked to choose between coffee and tea.

“Coffee,” they both responded simultaneously, with Sam adding, “Lots of it.”

Fans might be intrigued about Sam’s romantic past, as Caitriona hinted that the Scottish heartthrob is potentially single – or at least not regularly splashing out on jewellery for a significant other.

He’s never tied the knot and as of June 2024, reports still indicate he’s without an official partner.
Despite being seen with an unidentified woman as recently as May 2024, the self-confessed workaholic continues to prioritise his career and remains tight-lipped about his personal life.

During a conversation on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2022, he shared: “My whole career, not just Outlander, but as an actor, I have always put that first.

“It’s hard when you travel a lot. My priority has been my career, so that’s where I am at the moment. But I am sure at some point, I will get knocked off my feet, then I’m screwed.”
Caitriona (who is wedded to band manager Anthony “Tony” McGill) has also quashed any speculation that their fiery on-screen chemistry has sparked a real-life love affair.

“We’re really good friends,” she revealed to People. “We’re both going through the same experience, so that’s great, we both really understand that. I hope I’m as good support as he is to me.”
