Outlander’s Lauren Lyle has praised the time-travel epic

Lauren Lyle, known for her role as Marsali Fraser in Outlander, expressed her gratitude for being part of the Starz series at the Outlander and Blood of My Blood: The Gathering event, reports the Scottish Daily Express.

The 31 year old actress shared her realization of the show’s profound impact on its fans, stating: “I think with this fandom, I remember the first time meeting some of these people who this show has changed their lives, or they’ve made so many friends through it, or it’s got them through grief, or something.”

Lyle continued, “And I think it was quite profound to learn that you’re a part of something that is as meaningful as that.”

She wished the cast of Outlander: Blood of My Blood would have a similar experience, adding, “I think it’s a really special and also a very unique anomaly to be a part of. So I don’t know, I’m extremely grateful.”

This tribute came during a special panel discussion where the casts of Outlander and Blood of My Blood came together to discuss the franchise.

The upcoming prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, is set to premiere in August, featuring two epic love stories set in 17th-century Scotland and World War I.

The 20th-century love story in the Outlander prequel, Blood of My Blood, is led by Claire Fraser’s (portrayed by Caitríona Balfe) parents Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield), while Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) mother Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) are at the heart of the past romance.

Unlike the original series, Blood of My Blood isn’t tied to any source material, giving the writers more creative freedom, especially when it comes to the story of Claire’s parents.

While Jamie has shared the backstory and passionate romance of Brian and Ellen with Claire, Henry and Julia remain a mystery.

The 10-episode series is set to provide some answers for Outlander fans, with time travel likely playing a role in connecting the two love stories.

Lyle was notably missing from Outlander’s seventh season, with both Marsali and Fergus Fraser (played by César Domboy) absent from the plot.

However, both Lyle and Domboy will be back for the eighth and final season, as it’s been confirmed they’re reprising their roles one last time.

Thanks to Outlander, these two rising stars have been thrust into the limelight. Lyle is now leading the ITV detective drama Karen Pirie and has appeared in Vigil, Netflix’s Toxic Town, The Bombing of Pan Am 103, and The Outrun.

She’s set to appear next in the new season of Karen Pirie and the BBC drama The Ridge.

Meanwhile, Domboy has had roles in No Limit, SAS Rogue Heroes, Bonnard: Pierre and Marthe, Rich Flu, and the TV series Culte.
