Outlander enthusiasts have a few more months to wait before the second half of series seven hits our screens.
The second part of Outlander season seven is set to debut later this year, but who will be joining the cast for these new episodes?
The MGM+ time travel series will return with eight more episodes, premiering on Friday, November 22.
While Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s return as Jamie and Claire Fraser is unquestionable, we can expect some new and familiar faces in these upcoming episodes.
Who is joining the cast for Outlander season 7 part 2?
Jenny Murray – Kristin Atherton
Kristin Atherton will be stepping into the role of Jenny Murray – Jamie Fraser’s sister who featured in the earlier series of Outlander before her departure in the third instalment. Due to scheduling conflicts, Laura Donnelly won’t be reprising her role.
Atherton has previously starred in Waterloo Road, Doctors and The Show Must Go Online.
Brian Fraser – Andrew Whipp
Andrew Whipp will once again portray Brian Fraser – Jamie’s father who passed away in the first series after suffering from an apoplexy and collapsing upon seeing his son being flogged. Whipp’s previous roles include Danny Cairns in Shetland, Phillip O’Neil in Six Four and Ladbroke in Netflix’s Bodies.
Despite Brian’s death, showrunner Matthew B Roberts has hinted that time travel could bring back some characters.
Dougal MacKenzie – Graham McTavish
Outlander’s Dougal MaKenzie, played by Graham McTavish, was a key antagonist in the early series until his demise at the hands of Jamie. Despite being killed off, McTavish made a comeback in series five as Buck, Dougal’s illegitimate son.
Fans can anticipate McTavish’s return as Dougal in season seven part two, and he has also appeared in notable shows like Preacher, House Of The Dragon, The Witcher, and Blood Red Sky.
Ian Murray – Steven Cree
Steven Cree is set to return to Outlander as Ian Murray, father to Young Ian Murray (John Bell), despite his character’s death in season three.
Cree’s acting portfolio includes roles in The Diplomat, The Outlaw King, Cobra, and The Discovery Of Witches.
Joan MacKimmie – Layla Burns
The youngest daughter of Laoghaire Fraser and Simon MacKimmie, Joan MacKimmie, will be portrayed by Layla Burns.
Although Burns has only a few acting credits, she has been seen in She Will and the holiday film Saving Christmas Spirit.
Laoghaire Fraser – Nell Hudson
Nell Hudson will reprise her role as Laoghaire Fraser, Joan’s mother, in the upcoming episodes of Outlander season seven, part two. Hudson is also known for her portrayal of Nancy Skerrett in the ITV drama Victoria.
New characters are also on the horizon for Outlander, including Mercy Woodcock, played by Gloria Obianyo.
Mercy is described as a “married African woman who nurses Henry Grey after he is wounded and develops feelings for him”.
Actress Gloria Obianyo is set to be honoured for her captivating performances as Elektra in ‘High Life’, Lady Trelaw in ‘The Grinning Man’, and Uriel in ‘Good Omens’.
Benedict Arnold, portrayed by Rod Hallett, was a figure in the Revolutionary War and was depicted as a “steadfast military man” in the midseason finale of series seven.
Rod Hallett, known for his roles in ‘The Tudors’, ‘The Last Kingdom’, and ‘Terra Nova’, brings life to the character of Benedict Arnold.
