Sam Heughan made one 83-year-old beam with joy at his latest bottle signing as part of his US Sassenach whisky tour when he stopped off in Austin, Texas.
One die-hard American Outlander fan was left delighted after finally meeting her on-screen hero Sam Heughan, who plays the leading role of Jamie Fraser in the time-travelling show.
Barbara Lang Mandelstein, who is 83-years-old, shared her experience of meeting the Scottish actor in Austin, Texas, on Facebook, as part of his winter US tour promoting his Sassenach whisky, with a special meet and greet and bottle signings.
“What a wonderful day I’m cold Austin. Got to meet Sam and this 83 yr old didn’t faint. Bagpipes and several men in kilts there. Here are some pics,” Barbara shared on an Outlander fan Facebook page.
She couldn’t hide her joy as she beamed beside Heughan, who was sporting a light blue denim jacket, grey jeans and a grey t-shirt showcasing his very own Sassenach whisky.
The fan also shared another snap of the pair of them appearing to be deep in conversation, alongside video clips of bagpipes playing at the event by men in kilts, which left fans of the historical romance drama thrilled.
Fans rushed to the comments section where they shared their delight and envy in equal amounts. “What a wonderful experience for you! I’m so glad you had fun and you got to meet Sam. I hope someday I can meet him too,” wrote one fan.
Another chimed, “Good for you! I’m 79 and would love to meet this sweet man. So glad for you!,” as a third wrote, “Glad that you held it together to enjoy the moment! Lucky you!!!!!!”
Someone else quipped, “What a wonderful experience for you! I’m so glad you had fun and you got to meet Sam. I hope someday I can meet him too.”
