A new rumor has suggested that a season 2 renewal of The Acolyte might be unlikely at this point.

The High Republic era-set Star Wars series aired its first season finale a few weeks ago. However, we still have not heard any news regarding its potential renewal for the second season.
Some fans are hoping that the series will continue for another season since showrunner Leslye Headland has made it clear that she has a lot of plans in store for the next chapter.

The Acolyte Season 2 Renewal is Rumored to Be Unlikely

YouTuber Kristin Harloff recently claimed that he heard from an insider source that the possibility of The Acolyte season 2 renewal is unlikely.

“I don’t know how true it is… but, I heard, about Acolyte, there’s no world where it’s getting a season 2,” he said.

“I heard from somebody that said they heard from somebody pretty close inside, someone who knows somebody who knows somebody. So, take it with a grain of salt. But from what I heard from this particular person is that there’s no world where Acolyte gets a season 2.”

So far, Lucasfilm has not confirmed the claims that were made in the rumor so you have to take it with a grain of salt for now.

This could be a discouraging rumor for fans since the signs are indicating that a renewal is more unlikely at the moment and it sets up an expectation regarding the future of the series.

However, considering that nothing is confirmed yet, fans should still have some hope regarding its renewal. After all, Lucasfilm is committed to releasing more content related to the series.

It is also likely that we will be hearing an update at this week’s D23 event where Lucasfilm is expected to have a panel regarding their upcoming Star Wars projects.
