NCIS: Hawaii has been voted by fans as their favorite NCIS spinoff, despite the show being canceled by CBS showrunners in what they described as a ‘tough decision’
NCIS viewers have spoken and voted NCIS: Hawaii as their favorite spinoff show.
Fans have been desperately fighting to save the show after it was canceled after just three seasons. CBS executives said they made the “tough decision” after evaluating “the financials and the performance overall.”
However, it seems they might want to rethink the decision as viewers have rallied behind NCIS: Hawaii. A poll created by The Mirror US has shown some surprising early results, with NCIS: Hawaii voted the best spinoff by a whopping 63 percent of respondents. NCIS: Los Angeles was only at 28 percent, while NCIS: New Orleans fell behind on eight percent.
The early results from the poll have been shared on social media, with fans using it as a sign to bring back the canceled show. “#MahaloNuiLoa to the cast and crew who created this amazing show that we all love and was unjustly taken away from us. #SaveNCISHawaii #NCISHawaii,” one person wrote.
Another urged, “We need our favor ite mighty mouse back in action #SaveNCISHawaii #NCISHawaii,” while a third viewer posted, “#NCISHawaii has everything it was the best one in the franchise it was moving it forward and pushing the boundaries it’s so loved and needed now more than ever #SaveNCISHawaii #NCISHawaii.”
Another fan said, “It’s evident in polls like this one from The Mirror there is a lot of love and enthusiasm still here seven months after #NCISHawaii was cancelled. It is also very evident by Origins’ viewer numbers that Origins is under-performing in Hawaii’s time slot.”
While NCIS: Hawaii was canceled by CBS, there are other spinoffs fans can get stuck into. Following the cancelation, it was announced NCIS: Origins has received a full season order at CBS.
NCIS: Origins has been given a full season order at CBS alongside the comedy Poppa’s House, according to Variety. Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, told the publication: “These shows fit seamlessly into our Monday night lineup while resonating with viewers on CBS and Paramount+.”
Following the announcement, fans took to social media to share their joy. “That’s great to hear,” one person wrote as another said, “AMAZING news! I’m loving this show a lot. It’s the best show of the new season. Character driven and full of interesting back stories and a very talented cast. It truly feels like a cable series. Very strong writing and acting in all aspects.”
