Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are back as Tony DiNozzo, Jr. and Ziva David in a new set photo from the upcoming NCIS spinoff, NCIS: Tony & Ziva. As part of the ever-evolving NCIS universe, the fan-favorite characters are set to reunite on the screen a decade after being last seen in the flagship show. NCIS: Tony & Ziva is currently filming in Budapest, and while some cast members have been regularly sharing content from the show’s set, the latest snap reveals the first look at Weatherly and de Pablo as their respective characters.
Shared on X, formerly Twitter, by @prettywildmtv is a snap of the co-stars on the set of NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Both actors are dressed as their respective characters, but the cameras aren’t rolling when the photo is taken. De Pablo is sitting on her set chair while Weatherly stands in front of her, and it appears as if they are casually chatting. Unfortunately, there are not enough details in the photo to decipher what they are actually filming that day.
What To Expect From NCIS: Tony & Ziva
Tony & Ziva’s Daughter, Tali, Is Also In The Show
The offshoot will see Tony and Ziva, alongside their tween daughter, Tali, on the run across Europe from a currently unnamed threat. No details have been revealed about NCIS: Tony & Ziva’s central conflict. Luckily, the pair will have their own support system composed of skilled operatives on the continent. That decreases the chances of them reuniting with their Major Case Response Team (MCRT) in Navy Yard, since they have other people to rely on, but it would be concerning if they were operating on their own, especially since they have their daughter with them.
Weatherly previously revealed that Tali would be struggling to come to terms with her mom’s faked death, when Ziva went underground for years to keep her family safe from her foes.
Information about their crisis is still scant, though some pertinent details about the family’s situation have been revealed. While it’s exciting to see the trio together for the first time, they, unfortunately, don’t have the best relationship when NCIS: Tony & Ziva picks up. Weatherly previously revealed that Tali would be struggling to come to terms with her mom’s faked death, when Ziva went underground for years to keep her family safe from her foes. Tony eventually found out that she was alive, but Tali likely didn’t learn about it until Ziva was actually with them.
Instead of being on CBS, NCIS: Tony & Ziva will stream on Paramount+. This means that it will also have 10 episodes compared to its fellow shows in the franchise, which usually come out with upwards of 20 entries every year. Meanwhile, current rumors are claiming that NCIS season 22 could feature a backdoor pilot for the series, but nothing is confirmed currently.
