With NCIS: Sydney season 2 dropping tomorrow, fans are going to be in for a treat. British actress Olivia Swann, who plays Mackey, has revealed love could be on the cards.

Telly fans were gripped on NCIS: Sydney’s first season, following the every move of Mackey in the crime thriller.

Now Olivia Swann, who plays Special Agent Captain Michelle Mackey, has teased fans who have had to wait for this next season by hinting at romance, mystery and more for Mackey in NCIS: Sydney season 2. The new episodes are dropping tomorrow, February 7, and they will certainly be worth the wait.

In an exclusive interview with Hello! magazine, Olivia said there will be even more “action, comedy and mystery.” She said: “We really swing for the fences, and everything is taken up a notch.”

Olivia hyped up the ‘intense start to the season’ and ‘loves’ how the audience will get to see a different side to Mackey. When asked about the possibility of romance for Mackey, she said: “I’d be very intrigued to see how she deals with a relationship. She’s not someone who you instantly think of as romantic or mushy or lovey dovey, touchy-feely, but I think that’s in there somewhere, it exists deep down.

“Mackey is very hardened woman and I feel like, based on her past and what she’s been through, that makes a lot of sense so I think it would be so interesting to see her in that space, engaging with someone in that way.”

There was already so much anticipation for the next season – as the release date got pushed back. The Season 2 premiere was slated for Jan. 31, but was pushed back to Feb. 7, instead.

Rather than the crime investigation, fans who turn on CBS will be watching a Grammys special called Inside the 67th Annual Grammy Awards at 8 p.m. EST. The actual award show itself will take place on Sunday, Feb. 2.

The push for on-screen promotional moments comes after in-person events before the award show were shut down. After much of Los Angeles was consumed by flames, the Recording Academy made the call to cancel some of their preview events, being cognizant of the strain on local resources.

With the Grammy’s program pushing NCIS: Sydney out of its slot, fans are totally raging. On X, formerly Twitter, one NCIS fan wrote: “I’ve waited over a YEAR for NCIS: Sydney and now I have to wait an extra week just because cbs has to air some stupid special in that time slot???? Smh so done.”

“This show I just got into a couple of weeks ago and I don’t know if I could wait until the 31st. I mean, I will because I love NCIS Sydney, but still a long time,” another said, with a third adding: “I JUST WANT NCIS SYDNEY BACK I DONT WANT TO WAIT A EXTRA WEEK.”

The spin-off follows a joint team of agents from the American Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) as they team up to investigate crime.
