NCIS star Michael Weatherly recently announced the death of his father.
“My father Michael Manning Weatherly passed away last Thursday and he leaves behind many loved ones who will miss him,” the actor posted on X.
Weatherly continued, “A great friend to me in my adult years, Dad led a life of adventure and great humor. He brought the Swiss Army Knife to huge success in the 70’s and 80’s along with my mom. If you ever used one, I know he’d thank you.”
The actor shared his father’s schooling and military history and called him “a devoted husband [and] father.”
“Mike loved his home at Tryall in Jamaica and spent many years there,” Weatherly continued. “Often found in his chair under the Sea Almond trees, cigar in hand and great stories told with friends, he was asked in recent years if there was anything he’d like to do. With a characteristic twinkle in his eye, he replied, ‘I’ve done it all.’ May he rest in peace.”
Fans shared their messages of condolence with Weatherly, with one writing, “I am so very sorry for your loss, Michael. My sincere condolences to you and your family. May God grant you the peace and balm needed for your grieving heart. My prayers are with you.”
“A life well-lived,” another wrote. “God bless him, you and your family.”
Weatherly is currently preparing to return to the NCIS universe in spin-off NCIS: TONY AND ZIVA.
“It’s not an evergreen, procedural, it’s not structured the same way,” he told Deadline of the show, adding that they are “introducing a new voice” to the world of NCIS shows.

Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo of the upcoming show NCIS: TONY & ZIVA have announced a new podcast based on the franchise frontrunner NCIS.
The new podcast, titled “Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch,” will release a new episode each week on Spotify, starting on June 4.
Parade reported, “On the weekly NCIS podcast, the fan favorites will rewatch, reminisce and reveal more from the popular TV series. And they won’t be alone. Joining them are present and past cast members Sean Murray, Sasha Alexander, Eric Christian Olsen and Jon Cryer, to name a few of the guests that will be joining them to talk about their time on the series and the impact it has had on TV and pop culture.”
Weatherly posted a promo of the new podcast to Instagram to announce the news.
“Hi I’m Michael Weatherly,” he said. “And I’m Cote de Pablo,” de Pablo joined in. “We played agents Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David on NCIS, one of the world’s biggest shows,” Weatherly said. “And now we’re doing a rewatch podcast,” de Pablo announced. “Watch and listen every Tuesday on Spotify.”
