Original NCIS fan-favorites Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo have been sighted on the set of their new spinoff series.

A photo of the two stars from the set of NCIS: Tony & Ziva was posted to Twitter on August 16 by user @prettywildmtv. The photo comes from the series’ on-location shoot in Budapest, and features Michael Weatherly speaking to a seated Cote de Pablo while production crew work in the corner of the frame, in which lighting rigs can also be seen in various states of assembly.

Weatherly and De Pablo first appeared together as their iconic characters Senior Field Agent Anthony DiNozzo and Special Agent Ziva David during the third season of the original NCIS series, during which De Pablo’s character was introduced. Over the course of the next eight seasons of NCIS, the pair developed a tight-knit relationship, all while becoming fan-favorites among audiences. This eventually culminated in a romantic relationship between the two, resulting in the birth of their child, Tali, shortly before Ziva is forced to fake her own death.

Tony and Ziva Are Back Together Again

While Weatherly and De Pablo have made appearances together on an NCIS rewatch podcast in recent years, NCIS: Tony & Ziva marks their first on-screen appearance together in over a decade. Per the upcoming series’ official plot synopsis, NCIS: Tony & Ziva “picks up after Ziva’s supposed death when Tony left the NCIS team to go raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then—and where we find them in NCIS: Tony & Ziva — Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.”

Apart from starring in the new series, Weatherly and De Pablo will be executive producing alongside John McNamara, Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain, Shelley Meals, and Mairzee Almas, with CBS serving as the series’ production network. NCIS: Tony & Ziva will mark the debut of Isla Gie as Tali, who will be portrayed as 12-years-old in the series, and Amita Suman as Claudette, the chief technical officer at the security company owned and run by Tony. The series will also feature Maximilian Osinski, Nassima Benchicou, Julian Ovenden, Terence Maynard, Lara Rossi, and James D’Arcy in a variety of new character roles ranging from professional hackers to high-ranking government personnel.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva is currently expected to premiere sometime in 2025.
