We’re getting closer to the fall season starting. This is usually the time of year where we get ready with September dates. There’s bad news for NCIS fans.
Eyes are on the return of our favorite shows. September usually gives us a huge line of premieres, but that’s not the case for the CBS shows. NCIS Season 22 will not premiere in September 2024.
We learned this when CBS announced its premiere dates. The majority of the shows will not return or premiere in September, which is the normal time of year. Instead, October will have a premiere week, starting with Tracker Season 2 on Sunday, Oct. 13.
NCIS Season 22 will premiere on Monday, Oct. 14. It will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT that night, but it will move to the 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot the following week. The prequel series NCIS: Origins will get a two-hour premiere on the 14th instead.
What to expect in NCIS Season 22
Very little is known about the upcoming season. One of the biggest questions we have is whether Katrina Law will return as Jessica Knight. At the end of the 21st season, she chose to take a job opportunity that would take her to the other side of the country. It left her relationship with Palmer on the line, and it left us with a lot of questions about Knight coming back to the team.
There hasn’t been any casting announcements for the series since the finale. This could hint that Knight is back, but it could be a way to get people to tune in for the premiere. That’s when we could get the official decision with some new casting news.
What we do know is that we’ll learn more about Parker’s past. What’s interesting is that Parker will learn more about his past. He doesn’t know who the Lily girl was at the end of the 21st season, and it’s time for him to unlock some memories.
The good news is that we can expect to see a full season this year. NCIS Season 21 was only 10 episodes due to the strike action that happened in the summer of 2023. With no strike action in 2024, it means filming has been as planned. We’re looking at getting 22 episodes in NCIS Season 22.
