NCIS: Origins fans have been paying close attention to the show following the introduction of the character Tish and some believe she has a special connection with Mike Franks
Fans of NCIS: Origins have spotted a major hint that one character might have more to them than meets the eye.
The popular spinoff show recently introduced the character Tish and many viewers believe she could potentially be Mike Franks’ first wife. One fan shared their theory on the NCIS subreddit, stating, “I was doing some rewatches of a few episodes and it dawned on me they’re dropping a lot of breadcrumbs about Mike Franks and Tish. Follow the breadcrumbs I found and see what you think.”
The fan then laid out their evidence, saying, “In the first double episode, Tish gets attacked and MIke is shown comforting her. They never mention it overtly until later episodes.”
The fan continued, “In 2nd hour of the premiere, Mike is shown talking to Wheeler about something ‘personal’ he wants from the FBI. We also see him getting a file from Vera that we assume is a profile (originally I thought this had to do with Gibbs, but that would have happened when he was still a marine if the file was about Pedro Hernandez).
“In one of the latest episodes Mike goes home to stay with Tish while some painting is done because he didn’t want her to be alone with someone in the house. She assures him she’s okay but he says he’s not. So it appears Mike is hunting her attacker.
“Tish is Mike’s first wife and his Bio out in Fandom says there is a 2nd wife who is unnamed.” This analysis resonated with others, as another fan pointed out, “They kinda actually showed it in the show. Like Tish was raped by some unknown person and Mike is trying to find who it is and get him to justice or maybe even off the guy himself considering it’s Mike we are talking about. And yes Mike does have 2 wives but I also think his biological son is with Tish.”
A different fan chimed in, “Maybe I am remembering incorrectly, but wasn’t Tish raped? Maybe they end up divorcing because Mike can’t get over it/live with all that anger and fear.”
Someone else questioned, “Mike and his unnamed brother were also both married to the same woman. (Per NCIS season 3 finale episodes) was this Tish?” Meanwhile, NCIS: Origins’ executive producer David J. North has revealed fans can expect to see a lot more from Mike in the upcoming season.
He admitted viewers “won’t believe” what they have planned. “We’re moving on to other characters. In the second half of the season, we’re about to learn a whole lot more about how Mike Franks became Mike Franks,” he teased.
“I’ll just say we’re really excited about it because the audience isn’t going to believe where we take this. As much as we think we know about Franks, we stay true to that, but we’re really coloring in how Franks became Franks,” David explained to Cinema Blend.
