NCIS is among a number of shows which have resumed production after pausing filming due to the devastating wildfires that are ripping through Los Angeles

NCIS has resumed production amid the horror Los Angeles wildfires, but not all fans are happy.

Production was halted on a number of shows amid the devastation, including Abbott Elementary, Grey’s Anatomy, and NCIS. FilmLA, which issues permits for filming in LA, announced the decision last week as they said they wanted to focus on “public safety.”

However, it seems some are returning to normal as the cast and crew of NCIS, NCIS: Origins, The Neighborhood and Poppa’s House all went back to work on Monday. Shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Suits LA also resumed production.

Some fans were delighted by the news, with one person writing on X, “YES THAT’S RIGHT!!! The NCIS Verse is officially back in production starting today!!! #NCIS #NCISOrigins.”

Another fan posted on Reddit, “Hate to say this (i’m not bootlicking, so stay far back folks) But for those involved in these productions, gives them some normalcy back into their life. Better then sitting in a motel room dwelling or at a friends/families place. Some of their routine can pick up again pre fire.”

A third person added “I’m glad some folks are getting back, we need to get back to work. I’m sorry for all those that can’t, of course, but we need a path forward.”

However, not everyone was celebrating the return as many pointed out the fires are still ongoing. “After? Aren’t they still going? And aren’t they expecting high winds to come back soon?” one person questioned. Another fumed, “The city is literally still burning.”

NCIS, NCIS: Origins, The Neighborhood and Poppa’s House, which are all produced by CBS Studios, will only be working on closed soundstages with close monitoring by the studio’s security and health and safety teams, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Any cast or crew affected by the fires are being encouraged not to work and will still receive their regular pay. Those unable to get to work safely will also receive full pay.

While some shows have resumed production, others are still on hold. After Midnight and Grey’s Anatomy are yet to return to filming.
