NCIS season 22 is wrapping up soon, but Wilmer Valderrama is cluing fans in on a major announcement they may have missed about the show.
Back in February, it was revealed that the long-running CBS drama will be back this fall for an epic season 23. While fans were of course thrilled about the news, Wilmer decided he’d continue shedding light on the TV renewal in a way only he can.
Posting a behind-the-scenes video of his last day working on NCIS season 22, folks could see Wilmer joking with co-stars Katrina Law and Sean Murray about not needing to come back to work the next day. Even though he made a silly clip about it, he made sure to let people know he’s excited about coming back for season 23.
“That’s a wrap on season 22 🥲,” he wrote on Instagram on March 27. “See you next season!”
When fans realized Wilmer was confirming the NCIS season 23 renewal that was announced earlier in the year, they couldn’t stop voicing their excitement about what’s coming down the line for the show.
“Enjoy the break, you guys! We can’t thank you enough for all the work you do 💖 Bring on the last episodes of Season 22 and Season 23!” one person wrote in the comments. “Maybe not see you tomorrow, but it is see you soon. For Season 23 BABY! 🔥🙌😍,” another exclaimed. “Wow! It went by fast. Thank you to ALL for S22. It’s going to be a lllloooonnnngggg summer wait. So happy we have S23 to look forward to. Take care and keep going!” a different follower added.
Well, we’re certainly excited for Wilmer and co. to come back on the air this fall! But NCIS isn’t the only show in the franchise that’s returning for an all-new season. TV Insider reported that NCIS: Origins also got renewed for season 2, and NCIS: Sydney will debut new episodes this fall as well with season 3.
Fall can’t get here soon enough!
