NCIS fans have been desperate for Jessica Knight and Jimmy Palmer to reunite their relationship and executive producer Steven D Binder has teased viewers might get their wish
It looks like NCIS fans are in for a treat as one show boss has teased a happy ending for Jessica Knight and Jimmy Palmer.
Viewers have been desperate for the pair to rekindle their romance after they split in the season 21 finale. NCIS fans had been hopeful for a reunion in season 22, but were left disappointed.
Executive producer Steven D Binder has hinted the pair won’t remain separated for long. In a teaser for an upcoming episode, Steven said Jimmy will bring in his daughter Victoria to help with a case and she could also solve her dad’s relationship issues.
“[Victoria’s] going to team up with her father to help take down an infamous bank robber, like a D.B. Cooper type person, and Knight’s going to be involved,” Steven teased. He said the episode will also see Jimmy go undercover.
Speaking to TV Insider, the producer added, “There’s going to be some other women Jimmy’s going to meet. So now you’ve got Knight there. We’ll see how mature she is when Jimmy’s undercover, the bell of the ball, and Knight has to watch through a camera.”
Steven suggested viewers will “get a sense that maybe they’re better off together” in the episode. He explained how fans need to see how they’re worse off apart before they can reunite.
His comments come after fans urged Jessica and Jimmy to get back together after watching the December 1 installment of NCIS. The episode followed Agent Nick Torres and his involvement with a confidential informant as the team investigated the death of Naval Dr Roger Carnahan.
However, fans had their eye on Jessica and Jimmy, with one person writing, “Needed them back together yesterday.” Another posted on X, “Can someone set them up on a blind date so they can come back please?” A third fan simply begged, “Please,” while someone else admitted they “actually can’t cope any longer.”
Jessica and Jimmy split after she accepted a job offer which took her to California. They had been dating since season 19, but were left apart by the end of season 22.
Both Katrina Law, who stars as Jessica, and Brian Dietzen, who stars as Jimmy, have previously hinted that a reunion is on the cards. “There’s definitely still looks between Jimmy and Knight. The attraction is still alive and, you know, these two are still kind of checking each out randomly throughout the series. It’s not gone,” Katrina told Us Weekly.
Brian added, “It’s not as though the door is closed on a romantic revival at some point, but man, the twists and turns are gonna have to happen for that to occur.”
