CBS’ hit procedural series Fire Country has burned up the ratings across its three seasons thus far, but will the firefighting drama get renewed for season 4? Debuting in 2022 and created by Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, the series concerns inmate firefighter Bode (Thieriot), who helps battle California’s mighty wildfires in order to shorten his prison sentence. Not only does Fire Country capture the high-stakes and excitement of firefighting, the drama also delves into the lives of the characters, and explores a myriad of social issues that actually affect the volunteers of the California Conservation Camp Program.
Besides the fires which put Bode and his team’s lives in danger week after week, Fire Country has a wealth of storylines the keep the excitement high. Bode’s will-they-won’t-they with Gabriela is one of the most interesting romances on TV today, and season 3 is bound to introduce more wrinkles into the love triangle with Diego. On top of that, Bode is facing challenges that real inmate firefighters face, where his checkered past could hamper his career, despite his experience. All this makes Fire Country season 4 an absolute necessity, even if CBS hasn’t renewed it yet.
Fire Country Season 4 Is Not Confirmed (Yet)
It’s Only A Matter Of Time Before CBS Renews Fire Country
With the aforementioned Sheriff Country slated to land during the 2025-2026 season, it’s highly likely that Fire Country will also take an important place in that lineup.
In the modern age of TV, there are rarely any sure things when it comes to renewals, but Fire Country might be one of the rare exceptions. CBS struck gold with the drama, and they are eager to keep the ball rolling into the future. With a spinoff already confirmed (Sheriff Country) and ideas for another spinoff being floated, it’s only a matter of time before Fire Country is renewed for season 4. With the aforementioned Sheriff Country slated to land during the 2025-2026 season, it’s highly likely that Fire Country will also take an important place in that lineup.
The 2023 Hollywood strikes could have dampened Fire Country’s momentum because season 2 was delayed until 2024. However, it didn’t slow the show down at all, and CBS wasted little time when ordering a third outing. If that trend continues into season 3, it’s expected that the show will be renewed by midseason or perhaps even sooner. An early renewal would likely help with ratings, since audiences would not be afraid to commit to the series since they know it will be back next year. Unlike other procedurals, Fire Country’s ongoing narrative has been the anchor to keep fans invested.
Fire Country Season 4 Cast Details
Will Bode Return For Season 4?
The rich ensemble of Fire Country has grown across its three seasons thus far, and things aren’t expected to change going into season 4. Though a shocking death or departure could still happen throughout season 3, it’s impossible to guess who might be leaving. With that said, Max Theriot will almost certainly return as troubled former inmate firefighter, Bode Donovan, and the series co-creator and star still has a lot to do before the show concludes. Likewise, his on-again-off-again love, Gabriela Perez (played by Stephanie Arcilla) will also be on hand.
Supernatural alum Jared Padalecki joined the show in season 3 as veteran firefighter, Camden, and with his character potentially earning his own spinoff, he’s expected to appear in season 4. Likewise, Morena Baccarin’s Sheriff Mickey should also pop back in if Fire Country crosses over with Sheriff Country. New additions could always happen as well, but it’s too soon to guess who that would be.
Fire Country Season 4 Story Details
Bode Will Fight Fires In His Professional & Personal Life
At this juncture, it’s really difficult to guess what will happen in Fire Country season 4, because so much will depend on the events of season 3. Until the full scope of the latest season is revealed, any details concerning season 4 would be pure speculation. Though Fire Country employs procedural elements that are consistent from episode to episode, it is the tense personal drama that keeps things truly fascinating.
It’s all but certain that Bode will continue to put his life in danger to fight California’s mighty blazes, but he’ll likely also struggle with the stigma of being formerly incarcerated. Likewise, his personal life probably won’t get any easier as the fallout of his relationship with Gabriela begins to have its full effect. However, Fire Country could also cut Bode some slack, and season 4 could be where he truly starts to shake the chains of his past and become his own man, for better or worse.
