Everything To Know About Tulsa King Season 3

The Taylor Sheridan ecosystem on Paramount+ never rests, with a half-dozen shows that frequently dominate the streamer’s charts. Among them is Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King, which has been renewed for both a third and fourth season, with Season 3 currently in production. Paramount+ just can’t get enough of Stallone, whose family is also the subject of a reality show on the streaming service.

Tulsa King premiered in 2022 and quickly became another hit for Paramount+ and superproducer Sheridan, whose other shows on the streaming service include Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923, CIA thriller Lioness, oil industry drama Landman, and crime drama Mayor of Kingstown. Sheridan created the show specifically for Stallone to star in, and famously wrote the first draft of the pilot in less than 24 hours.

Stallone, who’s also a writer and executive producer on the show, stars as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a New York mobster who is exiled by his crime family to Tulsa, Oklahoma, after he’s released from prison after 25 years. Tulsa is totally different from what he’s used to, but he’s an adaptable guy, and before long, he’s gone independent, setting up his own crew and getting involved in various legal and illegal businesses. This puts him in conflict with all kinds of people, from law enforcement to his old crime family to local bikers to the Kansas City mob and so on and so forth. All the while, he’s working to repair his relationship with his real family, including daughter Tina (Tatiana Zappardino) and sister Joanne (Annabella Sciorra).

Tulsa King Season 3 latest news

Notable character actor Kevin Pollak is joining the cast of Tulsa King for season 3, per Variety, as “an FBI agent who has an axe to grind.”

Tulsa King Season 3 premiere date

We don’t know when Tulsa King Season 3 will premiere, but we can speculate based on Season 2’s timeline. That season filmed from April to August 2024 and premiered that September. So if the show starts filming in March and follows a similar schedule, it will premiere in the fall. But nothing is confirmed, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Tulsa King Season 3 production

Tulsa King’s first season was actually filmed in Oklahoma, but the production moved to the Atlanta area starting in Season 2.

There are some behind the scenes changes for Season 3. Dave Erickson will serve as the new showrunner, taking over for Terence Winter and Craig Zisk, who were unofficially co-showrunning Season 2. Erickson is tight with Tulsa King creator Taylor Sheridan, as he’s the showrunner of one of Sheridan’s other Paramount+ shows, Mayor of Kingstown.
Other EPs include David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Braden Aftergood, and Keith Cox. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, which also produce Sheridan’s other shows, including Yellowstone.

Deadline reports that Stallone will be paid over $1.5 million per episode for his work on Tulsa King.

In a March 11 interview with Collider, Martin Starr, who plays Dwight’s associate Bodhi, revealed that Season 3 starts filming this month, and he’s read the first two scripts. “I can’t tell you anything that I’ve read in those episodes, but I am excited,” Starr told the outlet. “This new season is going to be a lot of fun. It looks already like there’s going to be a lot of action, and there are some loose ends that may or may not get tied up.”

Tulsa King Season 3 cast

Paramount+ has not yet announced the official Season 3 cast, but we expect the Season 2 cast to return and some new cast members to be added as Dwight’s new enemies reveal themselves.

Tulsa King Season 3 plot

Plot details for Season 3 are not yet available, but we have some idea of where it will go based on how Season 2 left off.

Two very notable things happened in the Season 2 finale. One is that Bill Bevilaqua killed ousted New York boss Chickie Invernizzi (Domenick Lombardozzi), who wouldn’t stop hounding Dwight to rejoin the family. In return, Dwight agreed to give BB half of his earnings. That seems like a lot, but Bill came up with a plan to “franchise” what Dwight did in Tulsa in other cities — that is, come in and corner the crime market for the mafia. More on that idea later.

The other is that in the final moments of the episode, while Dwight was asleep in bed with Margaret, an FBI SWAT team busted into their house and took Dwight into custody. In an interrogation room, an agent whose face we didn’t see told Dwight, “You work for us now.” The who, what, why, and how of all that will have to be revealed in Season 3.

Tulsa King spin-off

In September 2024, before Season 2 premiered, Terence Winter confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that conversations were being had about a Tulsa King spin-off set in New Orleans (New Orleans King?). So far, nothing else has come out about that, but the idea about “franchises” proposed in the Season 2 finale appears to lend itself to somebody setting up shop in the Big Easy.
