Blue Bloods is still going strong after 13 seasons, although CBS viewers are currently unsure whether Frank Reagan (played by Tom Selleck) and the rest of the family will be back later this year. Meanwhile, long-running star Donnie Wahlberg recently had an exciting update for fans of the show over on his Instagram page.

Wahlberg confirmed he and the cast have filmed their last Reagan family dinner for Blue Bloods’ 13th season.

In his latest Instagram story, his co-stars Selleck and Bridget Moynahan could be briefly seen as he celebrated the milestone.

The Danny Reagan star embraced Len Cariou, who portrays Frank’s father Henry Reagan, in the short behind-the-scenes video.

“Final dinner scene, season 13,” he exclaimed. “Gramps! Love you buddy! We did it!”

Each season of Blue Bloods usually concludes with a staple Reagan dinner, so it’s safe to assume the cast has almost finished filming the upcoming season finale.

This episode is expected to air on May 19, so there are still a couple of months left of the cop family drama to enjoy.

CBS’s hit series will return this Friday for the 16th episode of the season, entitled The Naked Truth.

The upcoming hour will once again see viewers’ favourite officers struggle to balance their work and personal lives as new revelations come to light.

An official synopsis reads: “Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) learns that Eddie Janko’s (Vanessa Ray) close friend Tracey (Alysha Umphress) may be using the restaurant she owns as a drug front.

“Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) is accused of causing the suicide of a former colleague.

“Danny and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) are faced with various descriptions of the same suspect.”

While Jamie and Eddie face some tough decisions about a personal friend, Danny and his partner could be baffled by their latest case.

Plus, Erin’s campaign to become New York’s new District Attorney could be about to take a dark turn when she’s faced with some serious accusations.

Unfortunately, as of this month, it’s still unknown if the current season of Blue Bloods will end up being its last.

Thankfully, the cast is showing no signs of slowing down, and Wahlberg confirmed he has still been filming scenes with his on-screen partner Ramirez as recently as last week.

In another recent Instagram post, Wahlberg and Ramirez were shown filming a sequence in their iconic Ford Explorer.

“Another day of making TV Magic, on the set of #BlueBloods,” he wrote in the caption.

“With Reagan and Baez aka Danny and Maria aka #Daez! Back with another episode soon!” (sic)

The 13th season will continue with two back-to-back weeks of new episodes after taking a brief hiatus earlier this month.
