Big Brother 26’s Angela Murray has had a tough run as the first Head Of Household of the season, and as shown in a brand-new sneak peek from the next episode of Big Brother, she’s not handling the pressure well. Big Brother 26 features some exciting new twists and turns that have the houseguests scrambling to understand the new rules. With HOH Angela having to name three nominees during her nomination ceremony, she’s had to take the first strike on her fellow houseguests, which has clearly taken an emotional toll on the BB mother and former reality TV contestant.
In a brand-new sneak peek shared by former BB houseguest Kat Dunn on X (formerly Twitter), Angela is shown snapping at her fellow houseguest, Matt Hardeman, after their tense meeting in the HOH room during the last episode. In the clip, Angela comes down to the kitchen from the HOH room clapping before confronting Matt. “Matt, Matt, Matt, you must be so proud of yourself,” Angela begins. “I am so flattered that I am a threat to you…crazy eyes, you have frickin’ crazy eyes…I would love for the houseguests to know how…[Matt] very aggressively threatened me verbally in my room.”
According to Angela, Matt came up to her HOH room to talk to her about the potential nominations and then threatened her not to put him up. While something like this did happen and the interaction appeared somewhat aggressive from Matt’s standpoint, Angela is definitely blowing the nature of the conversation out of proportion. Other BB 26 houseguests are shown in the clip reacting to the spectacle, including Angela’s potential ally Quinn Martin, and Matt himself, who felt that he didn’t threaten Angela or speak negatively toward her.
Should Angela Have Publicly Confronted Matt?
Typically HOH Confrontations Stay In The HOH Room
In past seasons of Big Brother, the confrontations don’t begin quite as quickly, nor do they happen in a public setting. The houseguests on the series are often careful about showing their emotions, especially those that could be perceived as negative emotions, throughout the game so they don’t seem like a threat to the rest of the house. Angela, who has been emotional on the Big Brother live feeds since being named Head Of Household, clearly chose to ignore the way the game has been played in previous seasons. Instead, she confronted Matt in a public space, creating a spectacle.
While Angela felt slighted by Matt’s manner of speaking during their one-on-one conversation in the HOH room, her reaction to it was somewhat over-emotional and has likely damaged her game in the long term. Angela’s reaction to the meeting having been a blowup in front of everyone rather than a breakdown in private was tough for the other houseguests to handle. Seeing her extreme emotions and listening to her accuse another one of their fellow houseguests of being aggressive was difficult, and led many to be uncertain on what to believe. Angela’s blowup likely put her game in jeopardy.
As Big Brother 26 continues, Angela’s time as the Head Of Household will come to a conclusion quickly, leaving her vulnerable to be nominated by the next HOH. While Angela is a likely nominee next week depending on who wins the competition, the complications that could come from nominating her may be major. As the game changes throughout the summer, Big Brother viewers will have the chance to see the houseguests go through nearly every emotion.
Big Brother 26 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
