The first Big Brother 26 Power of Veto meeting has occurred, and the Power of Veto winner, nominee Lisa Weintraub, used it to save herself. The first Head of Household (HOH) of the season, Angela Murray, had to nominate three houseguests for eviction instead of two, due to a new twist in the game. She nominated Lisa, Kimo Apaka, and Kenney Kelley, saying that Kenney was her intended target.
The Power of Veto winner, nominee Lisa Weintraub, used the veto to save herself, which led to Head of Household (HOH) Angela Murray choosing Matt Hardeman for the replacement nominee.
The Big Brother 26 live feeds have revealed that the Power of Veto winner, nominee Lisa, used the veto to save herself. This forced Angela to name a replacement nominee, so she chose Matt Hardeman. Angela changed her target to Matt when she felt that he threatened her by saying that he’d nominate her next week if she put him up this week. Angela called him out in a fiery speech in front of the whole house. However, Matt was shocked that Angela nominated him because she’d later apologized to him and promised him that she wouldn’t put him up if they could find a pawn. Angela also told Matt that Kenney was her new target.
How Could The AI Arena Affect Angela’s Plans?
Matt Could Still Win Safety
During Thursday’s live eviction episode, the nominees will play in the first-ever AI Arena competition. The winner of the competition will be safe, leaving the two other houseguests on the chopping block. One of those two houseguests will then be the first to be evicted from the Big Brother 26 house. It’s highly possible that Matt could win the AI Arena competition and save himself from being evicted. If that happens, then Angela’s target would possibly shift back to Kenney.
It’s also not yet known if Makensy Manbeck used her secret power of America’s Veto to save anyone at the Power of Veto ceremony. However, it seems unlikely, because it happens at the end of the Power of Veto ceremony, unless it’s done in secret, and will be revealed to the houseguests later. Because Makensy has three weeks to use it, it would probably be in her best interest to keep it just in case she herself gets nominated. If Makensy did use America’s Veto, America will vote to choose the replacement nominee. Whatever happens, the Big Brother 26 twists have made the game refreshingly unpredictable so far.
The Big Brother 26 AI Arena competition has now prevented houseguests from being backdoored from the game. In traditional Big Brother gameplay, Matt would’ve been nominated with no chance of saving himself. However, he now has the opportunity to win the AI Arena competition and remove himself from the chopping block. This unpredictability makes the game much more challenging for the Big Brother 26 contestants, but also so much more thrilling for viewers. Of course, everyone should always “expect the unexpected” from Big Brother.
