Big Brother 26 houseguest Angela Murray might be a producer plant, and, if it’s true, it proves that the producers only cast her to create drama. Angela, a 50-year-old real estate agent, mother, and grandmother originally from Long Beach, California, but currently living in Syracuse, Utah, became the first Head of Household (HOH) of the season after winning the first HOH competition. She nominated Lisa Weintraub, Kimo Apaka, and Kenney Kelley for eviction, with Kenney as her target. However, she later set her sights on Matt Hardeman, putting him up as a replacement nominee, which led to his eviction.
Throughout the first week of Big Brother 26, Angela made several comments about how Matt was so handsome and would probably get into a showmance. Thinking that she was targeting him, Matt had a conversation with her in which he told her that he’d nominate her for eviction the following week if she put him up. Angela took this as a threat, and later made a fiery speech in which she called Matt out in front of the whole house. Angela’s meltdown was so over-the-top that it didn’t seem to be real, and now it seems as though she might be a producer plant.
Why Is Angela Murray A Suspected Big Brother 26 Producer Plant?
Angela Has Appeared On Several Other TV Shows
The most obvious piece of evidence that Angela might be a Big Brother 26 producer plant is the fact that she’s appeared on several other CBS TV shows. This is very suspicious. Angela was a contestant on Let’s Make a Deal several years ago and won $20,000 on the game show. In addition, in 2019, she was a contestant on The Price Is Right, which Big Brother revealed on its Instagram page.
Angela also appeared in the first episode of House Calls with Dr. Phil in 2021. The episode aired on August 18, 2021, and was titled “Traumatized and Dramatized.” Dr. Phil visited Angela’s family in Utah because her teenage daughter hadn’t spoken to her father and sister in three years, despite living in the same house. Angela reached out to Dr. Phil for help. These previous CBS appearances prove that the network knew of Angela long before her Big Brother 26 debut, and might’ve sought her out to be a cast member. As a Big Brother superfan, Angela would’ve jumped at the chance to be a houseguest on the show.
Angela Has Created So Much Drama In The Big Brother 26 House
Angela Attacked Matt Hardeman With A Fiery Speech
Throughout Big Brother 26, Angela has been walking a fine line between fans enjoying her big personality and being concerned about her mental health and the well-being of the other houseguests. She was becoming paranoid, staying up until past 3 a.m. convincing herself that her alliance, The Collective, was turning on her. If the producers truly cared about the houseguests’ mental health, as they’ve insisted they do in the past, then they might’ve stepped in to help Angela. Instead, they used her paranoia as entertainment, which could mean that it wasn’t even real.
The worst thing that happened was when Angela attacked Matt with an insulting speech in front of the whole house, accusing him of threatening her, calling him “Crazy Eyes,” and yelling at him that his mother would see that her son was “a straight-up disrespectful brat.” Many people, including viewers and her fellow houseguests, thought that she went way too far. Her behavior was completely unacceptable and led to Matt crying about his mother. However, it’s highly possible that Angela is a producer plant who made this speech in order to shake things up in the house.
The Big Brother 26 Instagram Page Made A Joke Of Angela’s Attack On Matt
Angela’s Tirade Wasn’t Something To Joke About
On the Big Brother 26 Instagram page, there’s a video from the show of Angela telling Matt that his mother would be “so upset that her son’s a brat. Her son is a straight-up disrespectful brat.”Although Matt was extremely upset by Angela’s comments, the show set Angela’s comments to the song “365” by CharliXCX, and included a caption that said, “buckle up – it’s a #bratsummer in the #BB26 house … #BigBrother #Brat #CharliXCX #RealityTV #Drama.”
By creating a hashtag out of Angela’s tirade and making a joke of it, the show is promoting her bad behavior, when it should be condemning it. This proves that all they want is drama, no matter who it hurts. This is not why viewers tune in to Big Brother 26.
Angela’s Insults Had Nothing To Do With The Big Brother 26 Game
Angela Was Cast For The Fireworks
Big Brother 26 had a change to its casting directors, adding Erin Tomasello and Holly Osifat to its team. They won the Emmy Award for casting the very successful reality TV show, The Traitors. They know what it takes to choose the best cast members for reality TV shows.
If they knew about Angela from the other CBS shows, then they might’ve chosen her to be a Big Brother 26 houseguest because they knew she’d bring the drama. Angela’s insults about Matt had nothing to do with gameplay, and she took things way too far. This type of conflict is frustrating to watch because it ruins the integrity of the game.
While it’s arguable that every Big Brother 26 houseguest could be considered a producer plant, specifically chosen for their entertainment value, Angela is a different case. She had several other CBS appearances, and her behavior has been over-the-top. It seems that the show cares more about creating manufactured drama than the game itself, which is very disappointing. Hopefully, moving forward, Big Brother 26 will play out in a more natural and real way, and Angela will focus more on the game than her antics and theatrics.
