One of the year’s most anticipated shows is the new NCIS franchise series NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Set to bring back franchise fan favorites Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo, who reprise their respective roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, the series is set to arrive this fall on Paramount+.
Recently, Paramount+ released a trailer for NCIS: Tony & Ziva, and the response has broken multiple records. Per Deadline, the new trailer for NCIS: Tony & Ziva drew 93 million views across broadcast, social, and digital in the first seven days after its release on May 5. This includes 26.5 million across YouTube and social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X, with 13 million on digital. Airing the trailer during the NCIS season finale on May 5, as well as additional airing during the following week, gave the show another 53.5 million views.
The update comes from Nielsen, social platform reporting, and internal CBS/Paramount+ data. It also means that the series has become the most viewed Season 1 teaser trailer for a Paramount+ series ever across social and digital. It’s also the most watched NCIS trailer in the history of the franchise, though it’s worth noting that the original NCIS pred ates the rise of modern social media and video-sharing platforms by many years.
Tony and Ziva Reunite On-Screen After 12 Years
Tony and Ziva were both featured as characters on the original NCIS before leaving at different points in time. At one point, it was suggested that Ziva had died, and Tony left the team to focus on raising their daughter. The show would later reveal that Ziva was actually alive. In NCIS: Tony & Ziva, the pair are reunited in Paris when Tony’s security company comes under attack. It leads to the titular characters going on the run with their daughter across Europe while simultaneously trying to figure out who is after them, and why.
The series was created by John McNamara, and it serves as the seventh installment of the NCIS franchise. It features the first time the two characters have appeared together on-screen since 12 years prior in a Season 11 episode of NCIS. Both characters have made special appearances on NCIS, but not together, since it was revealed that Ziva hadn’t died.
Isla Gie also stars as Tali David-DiNozzo, the couple’s daughter. Other stars include Amita Suman, Lara Rossi, Maximilian Osinski, Julian Ovenden, James D’Arcy, Nassima Benchicou, Terence Maynard, and Emmanuel Bonami. Weatherly and De Pablo are producing alongside McNamara.
The official logline reads, “NCIS: Tony & Ziva picks up in Paris, where Ziva and Tony have been raising their daughter. However, when Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run and try to figure out who is after them – while learning to trust each other again.”
NCIS: Tony & Ziva wll premiere on Paramount+ this fall.
