The NCIS universe is getting a major shakeup at CBS in the upcoming season. The network announced today that all three NCIS shows will air on Tuesdays from 8 to 11 p.m. this fall.
NCIS has typically aired on Mondays, with the recently concluded season having NCIS: Origins accompany the flagship series. When the 2025-2026 TV season kicks off, NCIS: Sydney will join the two shows on Tuesdays for the first-ever all-NCIS night. Dick Wolf’s FBI dramas previously occupied this block, but after FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted were cancelled, FBI Tuesdays have been converted to NCIS Tuesdays. The network has done a switcheroo as the two FBI shows that will be on the schedule move to Mondays.
All three shows just wrapped up for the season recently. The flagship series continues to dominate viewership charts with an average of 7.89 million viewers. NCIS: Origins’ freshman season was a hit, and the show earned a prompt renewal that will answer some questions after a massive cliffhanger. NCIS: Sydney continues to impress viewers stateside with its unique brand of cases that can only be found in Australia.
What Should Viewers Expect in the Upcoming Seasons of NCIS Shows?
For fans of the flagship series, everything will happen against the backdrop of Parker’s (Gary Cole) devastating loss in the Season 22 finale. The subsequent season finds him aiming to avenge his father’s murder by bringing Marino to justice no matter the cost. “He is not going to find his inner zen and not find a good place here,” showrunner Steven D. Binder said after the season finale. “He’s going to be destabilized and he’s going to be out for revenge and out for blood in a way that it will seem very atypical for someone like him,” he added.
NCIS: Origins also ended with a major cliffhanger that hinted at the death of one of the core characters. However, the show’s executive producers remained reticent about Lala’s fate.
“We need you to come back for season 2 and find out,” Gina Lucita Monreal said. For NCIS: Sydney, viewers will be transported a little into the future when Season 3 premieres. Showrunner Morgan O’Neil teased a bigger third season, saying:
“Anything I say is going to be a little bit too leading, but I promise you, from all the way down here, Season 3 is going to be way bigger than Season 2.”
