A first look at the latest NCIS installation is here!
Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are reuniting as the titular characters of NCIS: Tony & Ziva, over a decade after Tony left the franchise to raise their daughter following Ziva’s apparent death. The new Paramount+ series shows the pair’s life in Paris after it was discovered that Ziva was actually alive.
“Since then – and where we find them in NCIS: Tony & Ziva – Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together,” the official logline reads. “When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.”
The trailer kicks off with an update, as Ziva says business is “booming,” and motherhood “couldn’t be better.” She then hints at the unsure status of her relationship with Tony, which she describes as “on again, maybe again, kind of again.”
The next scene shows them giving Tali (Isla Gie) a pep talk — and a warning.
“Here’s the deal,” Ziva says. “Dad and I used to do work that was dangerous, so if anyone tries to hurt us, we’ve planned for it.”
They seemingly don’t waste any time using those plans, with her caretaker, played by Lara Rossi, interrupting a walk with Tali to let her know, “We need to run.”
Tony then sees a video of his little girl bolting through the streets, proving they are always being watched. One of the hackers of his company then declares: “I have no desire to harm a child, but if I must, no objection.”
A fearful Tony admits to Ziva that “someone I trust did this,” but he didn’t know “how they targeted Tali.”
“What are we going to do about it?” Ziva asks, to which Tony replies: “I haven’t been here in a while. Do you still keep all that deadly stuff in your cookie jars?”
Ziva, however, displays a closet of weapons. “I leveled up a bit,” she says.
“Have I ever told you how deeply I appreciate your paranoia?” he teases.
The threats keep coming, with the attackers telling Tony, “You’re going to want to do exactly what I say.”
While working closely as partners, Tony and Ziva continue to dance around the topic of their romantic relationship.
“Tali couldn’t ask for a better mother, and I couldn’t ask for a better… safe house roomie,” Tony says over a candle-lit dinner.
He later comes up with a plan, which Ziva questions: “So what we’re depending on to save all of these lives is me being charmingly persuasive and you kicking ass?”
“Not ideal, but here we are,” he responds.
The trailer concludes with Tony asking the attackers: “A lot of shooting, a lot of pointless death, does that sound good to anybody?”
In addition to Weatherly and de Pablo, the show will feature Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Julian Ovenden, Nassima Benchicou, Lara Rossi, Isla Gie, Terence Maynard and James D’Arcy.
Last May, Weatherly and de Pablo announced they would be reprising their NCIS roles. In a video shared on Instagram at the time, the pair began by teasing potential name ideas for the upcoming Paramount+ series before landing on NCIS: Tony & Ziva.
“It makes it easy because the fans know exactly what the show is. It’s about Tony and Ziva in Europe,” de Pablo teased.
She continued, “I expect intrigue, romance, the background of Europe, impossible situations that will make our life very complicated but somehow a little something about love.”
