The next spinoff series set in the NCIS universe, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, has gotten an updated release window. First look photos for the Paramount+ series have also been unveiled.
Per Deadline, it’s been announced that NCIS: Tony & Ziva will premiere on Paramount+ in Fall 2025. Consisting of 10 episodes, the NCIS offshoot will reunite fan favorite characters Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Cote de Pablo (Ziva David), following the pair on another continent with the series set in Europe. Isla Gie also stars as Tali, the couple’s daughter. All three are featured in the first look photos, which can be viewed below.
In the original NCIS, Tony left the team to focus on raising their daughter after Ziva’s supposed death. Later, it was revealed that Ziva was still alive, and she has since reunited with Tony and Tali in Paris. NCIS: Tony & Ziva picks up with the two going on the run after Tony’s security company comes under attack, as they must try and discover who’s after them. Notably, the show is a change in format from NCIS, as it won’t be the usual “case of the week” style procedural.
Tony and Ziva Are Back Together Again
Series showrunner and executive producer John McNamara said of the new spinoff in a statement, “I’m incredibly grateful to CBS Studios and Paramount+ for the chance to plunge these two beloved characters into a dangerous, fun, romantic, exciting chase across Europe. I’m excited to tell a single, serialized story of intrigue and espionage over 10 episodes, getting the chance to delve more deeply into Tony and Ziva’s complex relationship, their on-again, off-again romance, and the way they manage to co-parent their daughter Tali, heightened by the sudden jeopardy they all find themselves in.”
Weatherly added, “It was surprising how Cote and I just fell into this new place with our characters. Informed by the past, illuminated by the present and trying to see a future together. These characters are on the adventure of a lifetime. And hopefully, so is the viewer!”
NCIS is an offshoot of the TV show JAG, but it has found much bigger success, spawning multiple spinoffs of its own. The original show first launched in 2003 and it is still ongoing, now in its 22nd season. Two spinoffs have also come and gone, with NCIS: Los Angeles having a run from 2008 until 2023, when it wrapped up after 14 seasons. NCIS: New Orleans would have seven seasons of its own run between 2013 and 2021. NCIS: Hawai’i would get three seasons between 2021 and 2024. Meanwhile, NCIS: Sydney and the prequel series, NCIS:
Origins, have both found recent success; the former has a third season in the works, while the latter was renewed for Season 2.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva will premiere on Paramount+ in Fall 2025 with an exact premiere date yet to be announced.
