The star posted a smiling selfie with her sisters Anne-Marie and Deirdre wearing their medals and penned: “A day late on International women’s day but I was so proud to run today in the @semideparis with two of my fabulous sisters to raise awareness for @sanctuaryrunners @sanctuaryrundub which is a solidarity through sport initiative which uses running to bring together asylum seekers, refugees, migrants and all Irish residents. An amazing organisation that recognises the humanity of all. #sanctuaryrunners #semideparis @ambalfe @dmbalfe.”

Caitriona previously opened up about training for long runs in an interview with Sam Heughan.

Since the finale series of Outlander is looming (no air date as of yet) Cait and her on screen husband Sam opened up about their emotional journey as they wrapped up filming for the final time.

The pair, who first graced our screens as star-crossed lovers Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser in 2014, have taken fans on a rollercoaster ride through seven seasons of romance, tragedy, and adventure.

With the eighth and final season now completed, the ending remains one of Hollywood’s best-kept secrets. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Balfe revealed: “It’s been such a strange year. Knowing that it was coming to an end, we all definitely felt heightened emotions at various times throughout the process. Finishing up was so emotional.”

The article states that both she and Heughan “Post-filming, both actors embarked on solo spiritual journeys, with Balfe attending a yoga and meditation retreat and Heughan preparing for a Himalayan trek.”

Balfe, a long-time yoga enthusiast, shared her training tips after running the London Marathon and raising over £30,000 for World Child Cancer.

Responding to a fan’s query on social media, she advised: “Don’t do what I did and half ass training ! ! ! Find a program.. it’s A LOT of time but it’s worth it … now I’m back to yoga and Pilates ! More my speed.”
