Outlander composer Bear McCreary teamed up with the late Sinéad O’Connor for the main theme, and the limited edition double album also features Caitriona Balfe singing Ave Maria
The epic soundtrack for the historical fantasy drama Outlander Season 7 is now available to pre-order on turquoise-coloured vinyl, Starz and Sony Music have announced.

It comes as award-winning composer and recording artist Bear McCreary prepares for a major European and North American tour. Sadly for Outlander fans in Scotland, he’s only got one date in the UK.

The tour starts on April 18 at indigo at The O2 in London, before taking in Warsaw, Prague, Berlin, Zurich, Utrecht, Brussels and Paris. McCreary is also known for TV compositions for God of War, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Battlestar Galactica, and The Walking Dead.

Announcing the 2 LP limited edition release, Starz said: “His epic compositions are a perfect fit for Jamie and Claire’s story. A new version of the main theme ‘The Skye Boat Song’, featuring Sinéad O’Connor, is also included on this beautiful turquoise coloured vinyl! The season finale has just aired, now it’s time to fully immerse yourself in the music until the next batch of episodes arrive.”

The release date is March 14, 2025 and the limited edition run of 750 individually numbered copies of the double album on turquoise coloured vinyl is priced at £34. Click here to pre-order or to save the tracks on Spotify.

As well as O’Connor’s haunting theme, there is also a chance to hear Caitriona Balfe sing Ave Maria. She said: “Okay, Claire is not a professional singer. Neither am I. It’s about the emotion of the moment…But raw is good. You’ve just gotta go with it.”

Responding to the post on Instagram, one fan replied: “Every time I listen to the songs on the album I travel through each episode! I love it”. Another gushed: “The music is perfect, it’s just as magical and wonderful as the show”.

A third wrote: “Each time I listen the Outlander soundtracks I get chills full of emotions, nostalgia, sadness and happiness. I’m going through each song with such intensity that it feels unreal.”

Announcing his Themes & Variations tour, McCreary said “the time has finally come to take my music on the road”, adding: “I am thrilled to perform highlights from throughout my career and visit some of my favourite cities in the world. I look forward to connecting with fans and bringing my music to bombastic life on the concert stage. Let’s go!”
