NCIS: Sydney fans were left fuming as CBS dropped the unexpected news that the season two premiere of the crime series has been pushed back a week due to a yet-to-be announced program
NCIS: Sydney fans say they are “so done” after bosses announced one devastating change to the season two premiere.
This week, CBS delivered the unexpected news that season two of NCIS: Sydney has been rescheduled one week later than originally planned. The network revealed that the new release date will take place on Friday, February 7, at 8/7c. The late decision comes as CBS shared that they plan to air a yet-to-be-announced program in its original time slot which was Jan. 31, 2025.
And while fans will have a brand new batch of episodes soon, many were disappointed with the sudden switch-up. Reacting to the news on X, formerly Twitter, one NCIS fan wrote: “I’ve waited over a YEAR for NCIS: Sydney and now I have to wait an extra week just because cbs has to air some stupid special in that time slot???? Smh so done.”
Someone else echoed: “I JUST WANT NCIS SYDNEY BACK I DONT WANT TO WAIT A EXTRA WEEK.” Another upset user penned: “NOOOOOOO CBS CHANGED THE NCIS SYDNEY PREMIERE DATE TO ONE WEEK LATER (ON FEBRUARY 7TH) I HATE IT HERE SO MUCH.” And a fourth frustrated fan wrote: “This show I just got into a couple of weeks ago and I don’t know if I could wait until the 31st. I mean, I will because I love NCIS Sydney, but still a long time.”
NCIS: Sydney is a spin-off of the hit crime drama series NCIS following a joint team of agents form the American Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and Australian Federal Police (AFP) as they team up to battle crime. In the thrilling series, the joint team are on a mission to investigate naval crimes in and around the Indo-Pacific Ocean. The star-studded crew of the show includes actors Olivia Swann, Tuuli Narkle, Mavournee Hazel, Todd Lasance, Sean Sagar, and more.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, previously raved over the NCIS spin-off’s success and confirmed that there is still plenty in store for fans. In a statement, she said: “The global power of the NCIS franchise became even stronger on broadcast and streaming with the addition of NCIS: Sydney. Our American viewers have fully embraced these engaging characters, unique stories and the fabulous Australian scenery. We are thrilled to bring this show back to CBS next season and spend even more time down under.”
