Eyes are on when the Outlander prequel series will make it to STARZ. What we know right now is Outlander: Blood of My Blood will come to STARZ this year.
While we wait for Outlander season 8, there will be another series that we can get our teeth stuck into. Outlander: Blood of My Blood is still slated to arrive on STARZ in 2025.
We know that Outlander is coming to an end soon. However, we’re unlikely to get season 8 in 2025. That season is likely to be pushed to 2026, especially with the seventh season only just wrapping up episodes this year. While STARZ will want to keep Droughtlander to a minimum, it’s also a business, and that means keeping people waiting to keep subscribers!
However, there is going to be something from the franchise this year. It’s all about the prequel series.
STARZ hasn’t set the date for Outlander: Blood of My Blood
In some bad news, we don’t know when the Outlander prequel series is set to arrive on STARZ. We just know that STARZ has said sometime this year. It is likely to be in the summer at the earliest, which helps to space out the release of Outlander season 7 and prepare for the release of Outlander season 8.
Sadly, while STARZ says 2025, it doesn’t mean that we’ll definitely get the series this year. The Couple Next Door was supposed to arrive in 2024 and it was pushed back to January 2025. This was likely linked to the writers strike to help ease off some of the content that we now won’t get in 2025, but it still hurt, especially when STARZ didn’t keep us informed.
It’s time to learn more about Claire’s parents in Outlander: Blood of My Blood
The prequel series will take us back to two timelines, and one of them is the 1910s. We’ll get to meet Claire’s parents, Henry Beauchamp and Julia Moriston. Very little is known about the two of them, except that Henry had a brother called Quentin Lambton Beauchamp, who ended up taking Claire in after their deaths.
Henry and Julia died when Claire was just five. The official story is that they died in a car accident, although fans have often theorized that there was something bigger going on. Diana Gabaldon keeps saying that there was nothing special about their deaths, but that doesn’t stop the readers from suggesting it.
The series isn’t going to go into their deaths, though. Instead, we get their love story. It’s time to see how they met and fell in love.
Jamie’s parents love story will be shown in the Outlander prequel
The second timeline in the 1710s. We’ll get to see how Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie met and fell in love. We already know some of their story from Jamie and Murtagh, but there’s clearly much more that people don’t know. Now it’s time to see just how reliable the narrators were in the story.
This does mean that we’ll see younger versions of characters we’ve already come to know and love. We’ll meet Dougal and Colum, Murtagh, and Mrs. Fitz at younger ages. We’ll also get to meet Brian’s mother, Davina Porter—yes, named after the narrator of the audiobooks!
Outlander: Blood of My Blood is still slated to arrive in 2025 on STARZ.
