There have been a lot of NCIS spinoff shows over the years and sadly not all of them have been renewed, but NCIS: Sydney will be returning for a second season

NCIS: Sydney will soon be back for another season, but not everyone is happy.

The spinoff show first aired in November last year and was a huge hit with fans. Now, CBS has revealed the second season will premiere on Jan. 31, with new episodes being released each Friday.

Many fans were overjoyed by the news and took to X to share their thoughts. “Yes! Love that show,” one person wrote. Another posted: “WE’RE SO READY,” while a third fan said:

“Yea…I need more Evie Cooper in my life…” However, some fans were disappointed that the news comes after other NCIS shows have been canceled.

“I like NCIS:Sydney, but I would rather have kept New Orleans or Los Angeles,” one person fumed. Another questioned: “What about #NCISHawaii ?? We need a season 4 renewal now!!”

Another viewer was happy with the renewal news, but warned: “They gotta step it up though.” Fans only have to wait a few more months for season two, but some think they will struggle to cope.

“WDYM I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL JANUARY 27TH FOR NCIS 28TH FOR THE FBIS AND THE 31ST FOR NCIS SYDNEY, FIRE COUNTRY AND SWAT I’M SO SAD,” one person wrote on X. Another posted: “ARE YALL TELLING ME I MIGHT NOT SEE MY FAVS UNTIL 2025?????? BESTIE HALP #NCISSYDNEY!”

NCIS: Sydney’s leading man Todd Lasance had shared his shock when he confirmed the show would be returning. “Still feels like a dream……. Thankyou to every single one of you who tuned in and supported us!! Cannot wait to step back on set with our squad,” he posted on Instagram.

The new season will see fan favorites make a return, including Olivia Swann as Michelle Mackey, Todd Lasance as Jim Dempsey, Sean Sagar as DeShawn Jackson and Tuuli Narkle as Constable Evie Cooper. Mavournee Hazel will also return as Bluebird Gleeson and William McInnes as Dr Roy Penrose.

The first season of the hit show saw tensions rise between the American NCIS team and their Australian counterparts, but they managed to work things out across the eight episodes. Paramount+ has teased a “looming destructive chaos” will threaten the working relationship in the upcoming season.
